Each player registered with the Calgary Knights Lacrosse Association will be given separate floor times in which they will be evaluated at for team selection.(Exception: Mini-Tyke ,Tyke and Novice are on a rating system for parity)
During these floor times each player will be evaluated on five (5) core lacrosse fundamentals; Passing / Catching, Shooting, Physical Endurance, Cradling / Stick Skills and Overall Game Sense.
In the Peewee division each fundamental will be rated on a scale of one 1-3, one (1) being the lowest & three (3) being the highest. In the Bantam and Midget divisions each fundamental will be rated on a scale of one 1-5, one (1) being the lowest & five (5) being the highest.
Evaluators will be a mixture of Junior Players, Coaches and Volunteers. Player placement will be determined by their individual total combined score of all three (3) floor times.
If any one player is absent for an evaluation time they will be assigned an average score of their other evaluations. If any one player is absent from two or more evaluations they will be assigned the lowest score within their age group.
If a player believes there was an error made in the evaluation process, they must provide a re-evaluation request in the form of electronic e-mail to both the President & Evaluation Director. A non refundable $50.00 fee will be required for all on floor re-evaluations. Re-evaluations will be held at the requested players first team practice on the team in which they were placed on, and second re-evaluations on team they wish to be on. The player in question will receive a response by the form of electronic e-mail within 48 hours of the re-evaluation floor times.
